For professionals
SDA homes that make referral conversations easier.
Support coordinators, allied health professionals, SIL providers, hospital teams and discharge planners see a lot of accommodation options.
Some are helpful.
Some arrive as a 38-page PDF with three useful lines hiding somewhere near the end.
Homeward takes a different approach.
We provide thoughtfully designed Specialist Disability Accommodation with clear information, practical property details and a serious approach to fit, compatibility and long-term liveability.
Our goal is to make it easier for professionals to understand who a home may suit, what features are available and what the next step looks like.
Professionals need information they can actually use.
That means clear SDA categories, confirmed property features, transparent support arrangements, location details, referral steps and a team that understands the practical realities behind the enquiry.
Homeward homes are designed around real routines, not just floorplans. We consider privacy, support proximity, accessibility, circulation, shared living dynamics and the small daily details that can influence whether a home works well over time.
Good design makes your job easier too. Funny how that works.
The referral process, without the run-around
A good referral process should make things clearer, not add another layer of admin fog.
When you refer someone to Homeward, our team will help you understand the property, the suitability considerations and the next steps. We work with the person, their family or guardian, support coordinator, allied health team and support providers where appropriate, so the process stays practical, informed and centred on the person looking for a home.
Send through the information you have. It does not need to be perfect.
Where appropriate, we may review relevant details such as SDA funding, support needs, reports and preferred living arrangements.
Our team can talk through the home, SDA category, features, current availability and initial suitability.
For shared living, we consider household fit carefully before progressing.
If the home is suitable, we work with the relevant people and providers to support a clear, practical transition.
Ongoing collaboration with SIL providers and care teams to support resident stability
No mystery portal. No guessing game. Just a process that people can follow.
Designed for daily routines and support delivery
Homeward properties are designed to feel residential while supporting practical care delivery.
Depending on the property, features may include private suites, ensuites, generous circulation, accessible bathrooms, step-free access, shared living areas, outdoor spaces, dedicated Onsite Overnight Assistance rooms and power continuity measures where installed.
These details can help support safer routines, clearer support arrangements and a better balance between independence, privacy and assistance.
The home should support the person living there. It should also give support teams a layout that makes sense in real life, not just in the brochure render.
Housing and support stay clear
Homeward is the SDA provider. We develop, own and manage Specialist Disability Accommodation.
Daily supports and Supported Independent Living are usually provided by separate support organisations. We value clear roles, good communication and collaborative working relationships with the person, their family or guardian, support coordinator, allied health team and support provider.
When the responsibilities are clear, everyone can focus on what they are there to do. A strangely underrated concept.
A compatibility-first approach
For shared living, fit matters.
We do not view residents as vacancies to be filled. We consider whether the home, household and support environment may be suitable for the person being referred.
That includes access needs, support needs, communication preferences, daily routines, privacy, risk considerations and compatibility with other residents.
This approach supports more informed referrals and more considered conversations from the beginning.
